Home GCC Eid Al Adha rains in the UAE: NCM forecasts intermittent showers Residents can expect high temperatures across all emirates, with highs reaching into the 40s by Marisha Singh June 14, 2024 Image credit: As the UAE prepares for the Eid Al Adha holidays, the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has released a detailed weather forecast covering June 14 to June 16. Here’s what residents and visitors can expect: Partly cloudy with blowing dust (June 14-15) The weather conditions will be generally fair and partly cloudy at times from Friday, June 14, and Saturday, June 15. Light to moderate southwesterly to northwesterly winds will prevail, occasionally intensifying to fresh speeds. These winds could cause blowing dust during the daytime. Wind Speeds are forecast to be between 10 to 20 km/h, potentially reaching up to 35 km/h during stronger gusts. The blowing dust may reduce visibility in certain areas, so motorists should exercise caution. #Alert #Dust_Alert #NCM pic.twitter.com/dzyhInoIEA — المركز الوطني للأرصاد (@ncmuae) June 12, 2024 Sea conditions Slight to moderate with variable conditions expected in the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea. Potential light rain on Eid Al Adha (June 16) Weather forecast for Sunday, June 16, the first day of Eid Al Adha, is expected to start with partly cloudy skies, with a chance of light rain over the northern and eastern regions of the UAE. Residents can expect high temperatures across all emirates, with highs reaching into the 40 degrees Celsius. Weather advisory The NCM had previously issued a dust alert for parts of Abu Dhabi on June 13, highlighting the possibility of reduced air quality and visibility due to blowing dust. On Saturday morning, low clouds are anticipated along the East Coast, which could bring cooler and more comfortable conditions temporarily. Residents are advised to stay updated with the latest weather bulletins and take necessary precautions, especially those with respiratory issues or traveling in areas prone to dust and reduced visibility.
