The UAE grappled with adverse weather conditions from Monday, April 15, through Wednesday, April 17, with Tuesday, April 16, experiencing the brunt of the instability. Sharjah impacted by heavy rains The unstable weather system brought record rainfall to the UAE, surpassing any recorded precipitation since data collection began in 1949. The heavy rains inundated roads across the Emirates, resulting in water-logged streets and widespread flooding. Rain damage was seen across large parts of Dubai and Sharjah. As the extreme weather persisted, numerous motorists found themselves grappling with vehicle damage caused by the deluge. Maj Gen Al Shamsi announced that individuals affected by weather-related vehicle damage in Sharjah can now obtain destruction certificates at no cost. These certificates are accessible through the official channels of Sharjah Police. Al Shamsi underscored the availability of destruction certificates for weather-damaged cars via the “Sharjah Police Smart App” and the police website. Highlighting the collaborative efforts of field teams with concerned parties, Al Shamsi emphasised the commitment to ensuring residential stability and offering extensive assistance to affected families across all cities in Sharjah. Furthermore, he reiterated Sharjah Police’s commitment to fulfilling national, societal, and humanitarian obligations in line with the directives of the country’s leadership.
