Saudi Arabia issues industrial licences worth SAR1.88bn in Feb

The Saudi Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources has announced a substantial investment in the kingdom’s industrial sector with the issuance of 118 new industrial licences in February.

The newly issued industrial licences represent a significant investment valued at SAR1.88bn, according to a report published in the Saudi Gazette.

These licences span various industrial activities, including food production, manufacturing of metal products, non-metallic products, chemical products, rubber and plastics.

With the recent issuance, the total number of industrial licenses granted by the ministry since the beginning of the year has reached 270, indicating rapid expansion and investment in the kingdom’s industrial landscape.

By the end of February, Saudi Arabia boasted a total of 11,757 factories either operational or under construction, with 93 factories commencing production within the month.

Regional distribution of licences

The distribution of the new licences reflects widespread industrial growth across the kingdom, with 10 regions benefiting from the establishment of new factories.

Riyadh leads the pack with 40 new factories, followed by the Eastern Region with 35 and Makkah with 22.

Other regions such as Qassim, Hail, Jazan, Tabuk, Asir, Madinah, and the Northern Border Region have also witnessed the establishment of new factories, contributing to the diversification of Saudi Arabia’s industrial landscape.
