The flight carried a VIP delegation including Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad bin Jassim Al Thani, Minister of Culture of the State of Qatar. A visit was organised for the delegation and included Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan Al-Saud, Minister of Culture of Saudi Arabia, Qatar Airways group CEO Engineer Badr Mohammed Al-Meer, acting CEO Royal Commission for AlUla, Abeer Al Akel, and Phillip Jones chief tourism officer, Royal Commission for AlUla. The VIP delegation started the itinerary with a visit to the heart of the city’s Old Town. The group visited the kingdom’s first UNESCO Heritage Site, Hegra, which features the tomb of Lihyan Son of Kuza. Minister of Culture of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad bin Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani, highlighted that the inauguration reflected the successful efforts of the Culture, Tourism, and Entertainment Committee of the Qatari-Saudi Coordination Council. Al-Meer, said: “As a destination, AlUla embodies the blend of history, culture, and luxury making it a must-visit city in Saudi Arabia.
