Home Industry Economy UAE, India exchange key MoUs during Sheikh Mohamed’s visit The UAE President is attending the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, taking place in the city of Gandhinagar, from January 10 until January 12 by Gulf Business January 10, 2024 Image: WAM UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi witnessed the exchange of strategic memoranda of understanding (MoUs) on January 9. These MoUs will build stronger ties and enable deeper collaboration between the two nations. The exchange was made in the city of Ahmedabad in Gujarat. The UAE President is attending the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, taking place in the city of Gandhinagar, from January 10 until January 12. Read: UAE President Sheikh Mohamed lands in India for Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit The 10th edition of the summit is themed ‘Gateway to the Future’ and will see 34 countries participate along with 16 partner organisations. The event will host seminars and talks on global issues including industry, innovation, sustainable manufacturing, green hydrogen, electric mobility, renewable energy and space technology. UAE-India MoUs The agreements exchanged between the two countries included MoUs for investment cooperation in the development of food complexes, renewable energy and innovative healthcare. A MoU was also exchanged toward establishing sustainable, green and efficient ports, according to the state news agency, WAM. The MoUs (on UAE’s side) were exchanged by Mohamed Hassan Al Suwaidi, Minister of Investment; and Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, chairman and CEO of DP World. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan; Sheikh Mohamed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Advisor for Special Affairs at the Presidential Court; Ali bin Hammad Al Shamsi, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for National Security; Dr Anwar Gargash, Diplomatic Adviser to the UAE President; Reem bint Ebrahim Al Hashimi, Minister of State for International Cooperation; Dr Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade were also present at the exchange, reported WAM.
