His speech was broadcast live via TV, radio stations and social media channels of the Abu Dhabi Government Media Office. We will continue the legacy and vision of our founding fathers.” The president also thanked the leaders of all the countries who showed solidarity with the UAE in mourning Sheikh Khalifa’s loss. Sheikh Mohamed went on to discuss the diversification of the UAE’s economy and how it is a fundamental strategic necessity in our development plans. “More than 200 nationalities are active participants in the development of our country, and diversification of our economy is a vital part of our development plans. We will continue to establish the country as a reliable energy provider and a supporter of the global energy security.” The president praised the nation’s people for their contribution to its progress. “Despite being a young nation, the UAE has made numerous outstanding achievements. We have been lucky to have our people, who have proved their strength, strong will, determination and ability to overcome any and all challenges. We hold boundless pride in the Emirati citizen and residents who consider this country their second home. Their contribution to the UAE’s development has been immense since the union was established.” Keeping peace and security as a priority, Sheikh Mohamed said the UAE will always advocate for peace, security and stability. “We will continue to offer a helping hand to all societies, regardless of race, colour and religion. We support all countries who share our values of peace and cooperation to ensure prosperity.” Sheikh Mohamed pointed out that the private sector plays a key role in the country’s economy and that the nation needs to boost its economic competitiveness and top global indicators. “Our priority is to develop our capabilities in science and technology. Our job is to ensure a bright future for the present and future generations. To achieve this goal, we need to work hard and coordinate our efforts. To safeguard the UAE’s achievements and capabilities, we need to double our efforts.” The president concluded his speech by saying “Our top priority is the UAE and its people.
