Home GCC UAE Dubai’s Emirates confirms it is on a major cabin crew recruitment drive The airline said that it is hiring candidates in 30 cities from now until the end of June by Varun Godinho May 17, 2022 Dubai-based carrier Emirates has confirmed that it is on a major recruitment drive to hire cabin crew from around the world. The airline’s recruitment team will be meeting and hiring candidates in 30 cities from now until the end of June. Emirates’ recruitment staff will travel to several destinations including Australia, the UK, dozens of European cities, as well as Cairo, Algiers, Tunis and Bahrain. “There’s no more exciting airline than Emirates for anyone interested in a flying career, and we’ve received tremendous interest since we began our recruitment drive for cabin crew in November,” said Abdulaziz Al Ali, Emirates group’s executive vice president for human resources. “While parts of the application process are done online, we always make the effort to meet our candidates in person whenever we can, and that is why our Talent Acquisition team is doing a whirlwind 30-city tour over the next six weeks to assess prospective candidates.” All Emirates crew will be based in Dubai, with company-provided accommodation and receive a tax-free salary, among other benefits. Emirates’ cabin crew team currently comprises of individuals from 160 nationalities. Adnan Kazim, who heads the airline’s commercial operations recently said along the sidelines of the Arabian Travel Market that the airline currently flies to 130 destinations, around 90 per cent of its pre pandemic destinations network. The carrier is also operating at approximately 70 per cent of its pre pandemic capacity, which it hopes to increase to 85 per cent by November and make a full recovery by next year. Last week, Emirates Group reported a loss of Dhs3.8bn ($1bn) for the financial year ending March 31, 2022, compared with an Dhs22.1bn ($6bn) loss in the previous year. Its revenue meanwhile was reported at Dhs66.2bn ($18.1bn), marking an increase of 86 per cent over the previous year’s results.
