Around 1.9 million travellers to pass through Dubai’s DXB from Apr 29 until May 9

Some 1.9 million travellers are anticipated to pass through Dubai International (DXB) between April 29 and May 9 with average daily traffic exceeding 177,000 passengers.

May 7 is expected to be the busiest day with passenger numbers surpassing the 200,000 mark.

Dubai Airports is working with airlines, control authorities, and commercial and service partners to ensure a comfortable experience for all customers.

Those travelling during this peak period must be aware of the latest travel regulations for the destination of travel.

Passengers are advised to remain in contact with their respective airlines and ensure that they have all the necessary documents with the required validity before reaching the airport, a statement said. Meanwhile, travellers over the age of 12 can use Smart Gates to speed up the passport control process.

Customers flying out of Terminal 1, must arrive at the airport no earlier than three hours before your departure, and those travelling from Terminal 3 can use Emirate’s early check-in and self-service check-in facilities.

With roads to the airport expected to get busy during peak times, travellers must plan some extra time to get to and through the airport. More than 75 international carriers currently connect DXB to 196 destinations across 92 countries.

Dubai carrier Emirates has also announced that it will offer more flights across seven cities in the GCC and Middle East during Eid ul Fitr holidays.

Meanwhile, Dubai Airports has announced plans to leverage the capacity and infrastructure of Dubai World Central to ensure passengers don’t face any challenges during the planned temporary closure of DXB northern runway from May 9 until June 22.

​DWC will handle more than 1,000 flights per week during the rehabilitation period, with the majority of those flights being operated by flydubai, Spice Jet, Indigo and Gulf Air.
