Home UAE Dubai Dubai’s Emirates to restore flights to five African countries All passengers travelling from the carrier’s African network with Dubai as their final destination require a 48 hour PCR test by Zainab Mansoor January 28, 2022 Dubai carrier Emirates will resume passenger operations between the emirate and five African countries, starting January 29. The airline will restore services to Addis Ababa in Ethiopia; Dar El Salaam in Tanzania; Nairobi in Kenya; Harare in Zimbabwe; and its three South African gateways – Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban. All flights can be booked on the carrier’s website, online travel agents and via travel agents. South Africa: Flights between Dubai and South Africa will operate as a daily flight to and from Johannesburg January 29 onwards, and double daily services from February 1. Flights to and from Cape Town and Durban will operate daily from February 1. Emirates flight EK 761 will depart Dubai at 4.40am, arriving in Johannesburg at 10.55am. EK 762 will depart Johannesburg at 1.25pm, arriving in Dubai at 11.45pm. The second daily flight, EK 763, will depart Dubai at 10.05am, arriving in Johannesburg at 4.30pm. The return flight, EK 764, leaves Johannesburg at 6.50pm, arriving in Dubai at 5.05am the next day. EK 772 from Dubai to Cape Town will depart at 3.55am, arriving in Cape Town at 11.45am. EK 771 will leave Cape Town at 6.25pm, arriving in Dubai at 5.55am the next day. EK 775 will depart Dubai at 10.35am, arriving in Durban at 5.05pm, and EK 776 will take off from Durban at 7pm, arriving in Dubai at 5.15am the next day. Kenya: Emirates will operate 10 weekly flights to Nairobi from January 29. EK 719 and 720 will operate on Sunday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, taking off from Dubai at 9.35am and arriving in Nairobi at 1.45pm, and then leaving Nairobi at 3.30pm, and landing in Dubai at 9.30pm. EK 721 and 722 will fly on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday with EK 721 taking off from Dubai at 2.10am, arriving in Nairobi at 6.20am. EK 722 will leave Nairobi at 11.55pm, arriving in Dubai at 5.55am. Ethiopia: The carrier’s flights to Addis Ababa will operate daily from January 30, with EK 723 taking off from Dubai at 9.25am, arriving in Addis Ababa at 12.40pm. EK 724 will depart from Addis Ababa at 3.05pm, arriving in Dubai at 8.15pm. Tanzania: Emirates will operate to Dar Es Salaam with five weekly flights, starting from January 30. EK 725 will take off from Dubai at 9.30am, arriving in Dar Es Salaam at 1.55pm. EK 726 will leave Dar Es Salaam at 3.25pm, landing in Dubai at 9.50pm. Zimbabwe: Emirates will operate to Harare with six weekly flights linked to its Lusaka service from January 30. EK 713 will leave Dubai at 9.20am, with a stop in Lusaka, and arrives in Harare at 5pm. EK 714 takes off from Harare at 6.45pm, stopping in Lusaka, and continuing on to Dubai to arrive at 6.25am the next day. All passengers travelling from Emirates’ African network with Dubai as their final destination require a 48 hour PCR test. Travellers must show a valid negative Covid-19 PCR test certificate with a QR code for a test conducted at an approved facility. Validity of the test must be calculated from the time of sample collection. Upon arrival in Dubai, passengers will undergo an additional Covid-19 PCR test and remain in self quarantine until the results of the test are received. Passengers travelling from these destinations and transiting in Dubai are required to follow the rules and requirements of their final destination. Earlier this week, officials from the UAE confirmed the resumption of all inbound flights for national and international carriers from 12 African countries.
