Home UAE Dubai Emirates to resume flights between Dubai and Uganda Passengers travelling to Dubai and transiting in Uganda will also be allowed to travel by Divsha Bhat January 7, 2022 Emirates has announced that it will resume passenger services to and from Uganda with effect from January 8. Passengers travelling to Dubai and transiting in Uganda will also be allowed to travel, the airline said on its website. However, customers travelling to or transiting through Dubai will need to meet the following Covid protocols: – They will have to provide a valid negative Covid‑19 PCR test certificate with a QR code for a test conducted at an approved facility within 48 hours of departure. Validity must be calculated from the time the sample was collected. – They also need to provide a valid negative Covid‑19 rapid or real‑time PCR test certificate with a QR code for a test conducted at the departure airport within six hours of departure. – They will also need to undergo a Covid-19 PCR test on arrival in Dubai and must remain in self‑quarantine until they receive the test result. UAE nationals and children under the age of 12 are exempt. In addition, any customer who has been in Uganda within 14 days prior to their entry into Dubai is now permitted to travel with immediate effect. Meanwhile, in an update on its website on January 5, the airlines announced complete suspension of flights to and from Dubai to six African destinations, and one-way suspension of services from seven other countries. Read: Emirates suspends flights between Dubai and six African destinations Customers originating from Republic of Angola (LAD), Republic of Guinea (CKY), Republic of Kenya (NBO), United Republic of Tanzania (DAR), Republic of Uganda (EBB), Republic of Ghana (ACC), and Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (ADD), are not accepted for travel to or through Dubai, until further notice. Outbound passenger operations from Dubai to these destinations remain unaffected.
