Home UAE Dubai Dubai announces free parking for public holiday on Thursday The RTA has also revealed revised timings for public transport by Aarti Nagraj October 20, 2021 Public parking across Dubai will be free of charge on Thursday, October 21, which is being observed as a public holiday to mark Prophet Mohammad’s birthday. However parking will remain paid during the holidays at multi-level parking terminals, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) said. RTA service provider centres and customer happiness centres will be closed on Thursday and will resume work from Sunday, October 24. Smart customer happiness centres at Umm Ramool, Deira, Al Barsha, Al Manara and RTA head office will continue service 24/7 as usual. Public transport timings On Thursday, the red and green lines will operate from 5am until 2.15am (of the following day), while the Dubai Tram will run from 6am to 1am (of the following day). Public buses will operate during the Eid holiday as follows: Main stations, including Gold Souq from 4.50am to 1.22am (past midnight), and Al-Ghubaiba from 4.13am to 0.57am (of the following day). Sub-stations, including Al Satwa, will operate from 4.57am to 11pm (except for Route C01 which will operate around the clock), Al-Qusais station from 4.50am to 12.04am (past midnight), Al Quoz Industrial station from 5.30am to 11.30pm, and Jebel Ali station from 4.58am to 12.15am (past midnight). The Metro Link bus service at Rashidiya, Mall of the Emirates, Ibn Battuta, Dubai Mall/Burj Khalifa, Abu Hail, and Etisalat will be in service from 5am to 2.15am (of the following day). The timing of all Metro Link services is synchronised with the metro timetables. Inter-city buses and commercial coaches will operate as follows: Sub stations, such as Al Ghubaiba from 6.40am to 10.20pm, Union Square from 4.25am to 12.15am (past midnight), Etisalat Metro station from 6am to 9pm, Abu Hail Metro station from 6.30am to 10.35pm, and Hatta station from 5.30am to 9.30pm. The timing of external stations will be as follows: Al Jubail station at Sharjah from 5.30am to 11.15pm, and Ajman station from 4.30am to 11pm. Meanwhile the Water Bus will operate at Marina stations (Marina Mall to Marina Walk) from 12pm (noon) up to 12am (midnight). It will operate from Marina Promenade and Marina Mall, and Marina Terrace- Marine Walk from 2pm to 10.45pm. The Water Taxi will be operate on demand and the service will be available from 12pm (noon) up to 8pm. Customers need to make a pre-booking.
