UAE carrier Emirates will restart flights between Dubai and London Gatwick Airport (LGW) from December 10.

The Dubai-based airline will resume services to its second London gateway with a daily flight operated by a B777 aircraft.

Flight EK015 will depart Dubai International (DXB) at 7.40am and arrive in London Gatwick (LGW) at 11.40an, while flight EK016 will depart London Gatwick at 1.35pm and arrive in Dubai at 12.40am the following day.

The UK has said that it will accept UAE vaccination certificates from October 4, 2021. Therefore, vaccinated travellers arriving in the UK from the UAE will no longer need to self-isolate.

The addition of London Gatwick Airport to flight schedules in December will restore Emirates’ UK operations to six gateways, alongside the six times daily A380 London Heathrow service; double daily A380 flights to Manchester, ten weekly service to Birmingham, daily service to Glasgow, and four weekly service to Newcastle.

By the end of December, the airline said that it will offer 84 weekly flights to the UK.

“We’re very pleased to resume Emirates flights to and from London Gatwick, offering more ways for people and businesses to connect with our ever growing global network. With the UK simplifying travel and accepting international vaccination certificates, we’ve seen a big surge in demand as people have been a lot more confident in booking trips for the coming months and further ahead,” said Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ CCO.

The airline recently confirmed that it had become the first airline to implement the International Air Transport Association’s IATA Travel Pass solution on six continents.

Emirates has gradually expanded the IATA Travel Pass pilot to customers on 12 routes in June and the airline has now signed a contract with IATA to implement the solution across its global network. Currently available to Emirates customers travelling from 50 cities, the roll-out across all of its 120+ destinations is expected to be completed by October.
