Flydubai becomes first airline to partner with UAE’s contact tracing Alhosn app

Flydubai passengers can now use the Alhosn app at check-in without having to present a printed copy of their negative PCR test result when travelling from Dubai

Dubai-based carrier flydubai has partnered with contact tracing Alhosn app to provide passengers with digital verification of Covid-19 medical records while travelling from the UAE, it announced on June 16.

Flydubai is the first airline to partner with Alhosn to offer this service to its passengers.

The airline’s passengers in the UAE can now use the Alhosn app at check-in without having to present a printed copy of their negative Covid-19 PCR test result when travelling from Dubai.

This service is currently available for flydubai passengers departing from Terminal 2, Dubai International (DXB). However, plans to integrate the service for flydubai flights departing from DXB’s Terminal 3 are currently under development, a statement said.

Alhosn is a joint initiative between the Ministry of Health and Prevention and local health authorities and is the official Covid-19 results app for the UAE.

Passengers who book a flight through flydubai.com will also receive complimentary global cover for Covid-19 related costs.

In related news, Abu Dhabi has mandated the use of Alhosn green pass for entry to public spaces.

The Alhosn colour-coded system shows an individual’s vaccination and infection status. There are six categories and conditions under which a Alhosn colour-code status is determined.
