Schools across Dubai can arrange online graduation ceremonies as no events or gatherings will be permitted on campus or at external venues, Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), the emirate’s education regulator, has confirmed.

“Graduation ceremonies can only take place online this year – no events or gatherings are allowed on school premises or at external venues. We encourage schools to work together with students to use technology in fun and creative ways that enable students to have a meaningful, memorable and safe graduation experience,” KHDA said, as part of an updated list of protocols.

Last month, the education regulator said that all staff working in private education institutes across the emirate of Dubai are mandated to take a PCR test every seven days, should they choose not to be vaccinated against the Covid-19 infection.

This directive was applicable on those employees – either working remotely or onsite – who are eligible yet choose not to be vaccinated.

In related academic news, KHDA also confirmed that private schools in Dubai cannot increase tuition fees for the 2021-2022 academic year.
