Home Covid-19 Abu Dhabi now offering Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine; updates list of centres for free jabs Prior appointments are necessary to avail of the Pfizer-BioNTech jabs by Varun Godinho April 21, 2021 Abu Dhabi has begun rolling out free Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine for eligible residents and citizens across 11 locations within the emirate. In an update issued by Abu Dhabi Media Office on April 21, it said that prior appointments are necessary to avail of the Pfizer-BioNTech jabs. In Abu Dhabi city, the Pfizer vaccine is available at Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (Seha) facilities at Al Zaafaranah Diagnostic and Screening Centre, Madinat Mohamed Bin Zayed Healthcare Centre, Al Bahia Healthcare Centre. The SEHA centres in Al Ain that are offering the jab include Oud Al Touba Diagnostic and Screening Centre and Neima Healthcare Centre. In Al Dhafra, the SEHA centre where the Pfizer jab is available is at Al Dhafra Family Medicine Centre. For appointments at SEHA centers, individuals must call 800 50. The vaccines are also available at Mubadala Health vaccination centres in Abu Dhabi including at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Healthpoint Hospital, Capital Health Screening Centre at Al Jazira Sports Club, Capital Health Screening Centre at Mubadala Tower. It is also available at the Capital Health Screening in Al Ain. According to an update on the Abu Dhabi’s Department of Health website, the Sinopharm vaccine cannot be availed by pregnant women, nursing mothers, people with immunodeficiency diseases, women planning to become pregnant within the near future (3 months from taking the vaccine), children under the age of 16 and people with severe allergic reaction to any component in the vaccine. The eligibility criteria for the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine differs, but it too is not available for participants of Phase III of the clinical trial, recipients of a single or multiple doses of any other Covid-19 vaccines, pregnant women, people with certain conditions (based on evaluation of the medical team), people with severe allergic reaction to any component in the vaccine and children under the age of 16 years.
