Home UAE Dubai Uber offers free rides for Covid-19 vaccinations at Mediclinic centres in Dubai and Abu Dhabi Its latest initiative is supported by Dubai’s Road and Transport Authority and Abu Dhabi’s Integrated Transport Centre by Varun Godinho April 15, 2021 Ride hailing service Uber said on Wednesday that it will offer free rides to people seeking Covid-19 vaccination at Mediclinic centres in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Residents will easily be able to book the trips to and from all Mediclinic centres this Ramadan using the Uber app. They will receive a voucher to avail the free ride once they have booked an appointment for the vaccination at a Mediclinic centre of their choice in either of the two emirates. The voucher will entitle them to two free rides valid until May 11, 2021. One of the conditions to avail of the voucher discount is that the trip must start or end at Mediclinic vaccination centers in Dubai or Abu Dhabi, limited up to Dhs60. Uber says that their latest initiative is supported by Dubai’s Road and Transport Authority and Abu Dhabi’s Integrated Transport Centre. “We’ve been looking at how we can support local communities and complement the government’s efforts to vaccinate residents and limit the spread of the virus,” said Rifad Mahasneh, Uber general manager in the UAE. “The partnership with Mediclinic is an important step in giving people better access to get to vaccination centres safely and reliably at a time when mobility is impacted.” Mediclinic Middle East’s chief marketing officer, Peter Menelaou, added: “Mediclinic has been actively supporting the government in its efforts to combat Covid-19 since the beginning of the pandemic, and by working with Uber to provide free rides to those receiving Covid-19 vaccinations at our facilities in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, we hope to ensure that as many as people as possible have access to immunisation against this disease.” Recently, Uber also announced discounted rides for people looking to receive the Covid-19 vaccine to and from centres in Dubai, Sharjah, and Abu Dhabi.
