A total of 1,000 volunteers received their second dose. The trial will now transition into the scientific data collection phase, with UAE results to be combined with global research findings. The vaccine’s immune response will be monitored in volunteers for 180 days. The Russian vaccine has so far shown a 91.6 per cent efficacy rate. The UAE’s Ministry of Health and Prevention approved the Russian Covid-19 vaccine, Sputnik V, for emergency use, earlier this year.
