It is the first UAE-based airline to offer direct flights on this route. According to the airline, it will operate twice weekly flights between Dubai International airport (DXB) and Tirana International Airport (TIA). “As countries within our flying radius lift travel restrictions, we continue to look for new opportunities to connect previously underserved markets to Dubai,” said Ghaith Al Ghaith, CEO at flydubai. Flydubai has moved to rapidly expand its connectivity to European destinations recently. A few weeks ago it said that it would begin flights to four European cities including Catania and Naples in Italy, Salzburg in Austria and Malta, from May 2021. Later this month, it will begin operating twice-weekly flights between DXB and Cluj-Napoka, the second largest city in Romania.
