Dubai’s DHA ceases PCR testing at select centres; nationwide Covid-19 cases cross 260,000

The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) has announced a list of centres at which PCR testing services will now be decommissioned.

Starting January 19, Covid-19 screening centres at Nakheel Mall, Dubai Mall, Mirdif City Center and Majlis Hamriya Port will no longer offer PCR testing facilities.

Traveller Covid-19 screening services at Shabab Al-Ahli Club, however, have been transferred the Al-Nasr Club screening centre.

DHA also revealed a list of facilities that will continue providing PCR testing for Covid-19 on both booking and walk-in basis. Those DHA centres that require an appointment to book a PCR test are: Al Rashidiya Majlis, Jumeirah 1 Port Majlis and Al Nasr Club.

Meanwhile, facilities operating on a walk-in basis consist of testing stations in Deira City Centre and Mall of the Emirates.

The UAE announced 3,491 new cases on January 19, scaling the nation-wide case count to 260,233. The country’s health ministry also confirmed 3,311 recoveries and five deaths.

The death toll now stands at 756.
