Abu Dhabi’s non-oil foreign trade valued Dhs80.2bn for Jan-May 2020

Total trade decreased by 18.7 per cent in May 2020 compared with May 2019

The non-oil foreign merchandise trade through the ports of Abu Dhabi amounted to Dhs80.2bn in the period from January through May 2020, according to the figures of the Statistics Centre-Abu Dhabi.

Re-exports stood at Dhs14.8bn, and exports to Dhs23.2bn, with imports up 0.4 per cent compared to the same period last year.

Total trade decreased by 18.7 per cent in May 2020 compared with May 2019, due to a decline in re-exports, imports, and non-oil exports by 58.2 per cent, 7.8 per cent, and 1.6 per cent respectively in the same period.

Saudi Arabia continues to be the key trade partner with Abu Dhabi, with the two-way trade between them valued at Dhs18bn, followed by China, Dhs5.4bn; Japan, Dhs4.76bn; and Switzerland, Dhs3.7bn.
