Covid-19 update: UAE records highest daily spike in infections with 1,578 new cases

The UAE has reported 1,578 new infections in the past 24 hours, marking its highest daily rise in new cases, since the virus broke out across the country.

The second highest daily increase, equalling 1,538, was reported both on October 17 and 21.

The health ministry also confirmed 1,550 recoveries and two deaths in the last 24 hours.

The new cases were detected as a consequence of 114,483 tests conducted to screen for the virus.

The registered infection count has risen to 120,710, including 113,364 recoveries and 474 deaths.

Oman
The Ministry of Health has registered 353 new Covid-19 infections and 10 deaths across the sultanate.

Oman has also confirmed 582 recoveries in the past 24 hours.

The total cases in the country now equals 111,837, which include 97,949 recoveries and 1,147 fatalities, Times of Oman reported.
