Dubai’s Emirates expands reach to 45 more destinations via interline agreement with Airlink

Dubai’s Emirates has entered into an interline agreement with South Africa’s Airlink carrier.

Emirates customers will now have access to more than 25 domestic destinations in South Africa and over 20 regional destinations in Southern Africa, via Johannesburg and Cape Town.

Emirates and Airlink will offer single-ticket travel and one-stop baggage check-in for customers transferring from Johannesburg and Cape Town to domestic points including Bloemfontein, George, Upington, Nelspruit, Hoedspruit and Port Elizabeth, as well as points across Southern Africa like Gaborone, Kasane, Vilanculos, Maun, Victoria Falls, Maputo, Windhoek, Harare, Lusaka, Ndola, Bulawayo and Livingstone, among others.

Customers can book their travel with both airlines on the Emirates website, as well as through travel agents.

“The interline agreement that has gone into effect with Airlink is only the start of further collaboration, and we are looking forward to exploring more opportunities to widen the scope of our partnership in the future,” added Clark.

Emirates resumed its operations to Johannesburg and Cape Town on October 1, and Durban on October 8.

Emirates allows customers to claim medical expenses on flights undertaken until December 31, 2020. The cover is valid for 31 days from the moment they fly the first sector of their journey.
