Home GCC Bahrain Bahrain, Israel sign historic joint communique to establish diplomatic relations Bahrain became the second Gulf nation to establish full diplomatic relations with Israel by Zainab Mansoor October 19, 2020 Bahrain and Israel have signed a historic joint communique on the establishment of diplomatic, peaceful and friendly relations in Manama, Bahrain. Memorandums of Understanding regarding economic and trade relations, telecommunications, commerce, air services, movement of people, banking and financial services, and cooperation between Ministries of Foreign Affairs, as well as other areas of mutual benefit were signed between the two countries, Bahrain News Agency reported. In addition, working groups met to discuss additional areas for potential cooperation, including aviation, healthcare, technology, tourism, and agriculture, and to plan their bilateral relationship. The signing comes in the aftermath of the historic peace agreement signed between Bahrain, the UAE and Israel on September 15 at the White House.
