The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) said the new cases were detected after it conducted 120,665 additional Covid-19 tests over the past 24 hours. In a statement, the ministry stressed its aim to continue expanding the scope of testing nationwide to facilitate the early detection of coronavirus cases and carry out the necessary treatment. The infected individuals, who are from various nationalities, are in a stable condition and are receiving the necessary care. MoHAP also announced four deaths due to Covid-19 complications, bringing the total death toll in the country to 442. It also announced that an additional 1,424 individuals had fully recovered from the virus, bringing the total number of recoveries to 94,903. The ministry expressed its sincere condolences to the family of the deceased and urged the public to cooperate with health authorities, adhere to the instructions and ensure physical distancing. The UAE has been cracking on those flouting Covid-19 regulations. Field inspectors from the Commercial Compliance and Consumer Protection (CCCP) sector in Dubai Economy found that the facility was violating the physical distancing guidelines specified as part of the precautionary measures against Covid-19. Dubai Economy has directed all businesses in the emirate to avoid holding events that might lead to overcrowding and reminded violators of fines and closure orders. It also warned 10 shops in shopping malls during the inspections on Thursday for not placing physical distancing stickers. Overall, inspections found that 581 shops and commercial establishments fully complied with the precautionary measures. Several facilities and outlets in the emirate have been fined or faced penalties in recent weeks for failing to adhere to precautionary measures.
