World Art Dubai postponed to October 2020

The event will now take place from October 8-10

On Monday, the organisers of World Art Dubai – the region’s largest affordable retail art fair – announced that it had decided to postpone the event which was originally scheduled to take place from April 8-11, 2020 at the Dubai World Trade Centre due to the global coronavirus outbreak.

The event will now take place from October 8-10, 2020 at the same location in Dubai.

In a statement on the event’s website, Dubai World Trade Centre stated: “Our decision comes after much deliberation in consultation with the event’s main participants and industry stakeholders, who have strongly endorsed our prioritisation of the collective interests of both the global exhibitors and the key buyers from the region. With the event now rescheduled to happen from 8-10 October 2020, World Art Dubai shall facilitate greater participation across our global communities, enabling more inclusive access for all.”

World Art Dubai features over 3,000 pieces and has artwork priced from $100 onwards.

The announcement of the cancellation of this retail art fair comes days after another prominent art fair – Art Dubai 2020 – slated to be held later this month, was postponed.

There have been several other events that were scheduled to take place in Dubai in March and April which have now been rescheduled due to coronavirus.

It includes the Arabian Travel Market, Dubai International Boat Show, Ai Everything and Careers UAE, among others.

On Monday, the UAE confirmed 14 new cases of coronavirus cases in the country which includes four Emiratis, three Italians, two Bangladeshis, two Nepalese, one Russian, one Indian and one Syrian.

The total number of confirmed Covid-19 coronavirus cases in the UAE is now 59.
