Abu Dhabi’s Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) and Musanada, Abu Dhabi General Services Company, have commenced the Dhs100m traffic development project at the Saih Shuaib-Al Faya road (E75), official news agency WAM reported.

The road will be a dual carriageway from Mohammed bin Rashed road intersection (E311) to the Emirates road intersection (E611), with a centre median.

Al Faya-Saih Shuaib road (E75) is one of the central trucks roads between the Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Al Ain emirates, the statement said.

Additionally, the project includes the implementation of an under pass fostering the development of the Emirates road intersection, as well as the extension of the existing tunnel to permit traffic in both directions, the statement said.

The project also includes an extension of a camel crossing tunnel under pass, and the removal of the existing roundabout at the Al Ghadeer area. Furthermore, it entails the construction of a new roundabout to connect with the existing Al Ghadeer area and for future development there.

The project, that is expected to increase road efficiency, and help the flow of traffic and transport of goods to and from Abu Dhabi City, also includes the development of a road lighting network and the establishment of a storm water drainage system, the statement said.

According to the ITC and Musanada, over 100 workers, engineers and consultants intend to complete the project with delivery expected in mid-2020, prior to Expo 2020 Dubai’s launch in October, the statement said.

The project will facilitate traffic and augment traffic safety during the hosting of the Expo 2020 event.

The use of recycled materials in the pavement, and materials to bolster the pavement layers and reduce the size of asphalt, underlines Musanada’s commitment to environmental sustainability, the statement said.
