Sole DXB 2019: Reebok to unveil exclusive Pyer Moss collection

Sole DXB 2019 kicks off today in Dubai Design District. The three-day festival celebrates film, fashion, art, sport and music. It is though, at its core, a celebration of street style and pop culture.

Of the dozens of high-profile participants at Sole DXB, we’re closely following Reebook who will be showcasing an exclusive collection called the Pyer Moss – Collection 3.

The capsule includes tracksuits, tops and sneakers designed by Kerby Jean-Raymond, the founder of New York-based luxury and ready-to-wear brand Pyer Moss.

The collection features rich prints that bring light to untold and forgotten stories through the Sankofa; a Twi word from the Akan tribe in Ghana which translates to ‘Go Back and Get It’. The Sankofa symbolizes going back to one’s past to reclaim your own narrative.

A standout item from the collection is The Pyer Moss Experiment 4 “Fury Trail” sneaker that features a multi-coloured upper and chunky sole unit.

It’s worth noting that in July, Jean-Raymond was appointed as the artistic director of Reebok Studies_, a new division within the company that was geared towards the development of creative talent and ideas.

He also recently landed a spot on the inaugural TIME 100 Next list, appearing in the Phenoms category.

To understand the creative zeitgeist and the direction that streetwear globally is embarking upon, you will be able to attend a panel discussion at the Reebok space in Sole DXB on Friday, December 6 at 4.30 pm in which Jean-Raymond will be covering topics relating to embracing sub-cultures, championing inclusivity and celebrating uniqueness.

Joining Jean-Raymond in the Reebok space will be regional talents like Dubai Poetry Slam and photographer and filmmaker Aqib Anwar. Keep an eye out for the exclusive launch of the InstaPump Fury Boost ‘Black and White’ too, a revolutionary collaboration between Reebok and Adidas.
