Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has completed all the roads and tunnels leading to the entry and exit points of the Dhs4bn Jewel of the Creek project.

The roads and tunnels will open after the project’s construction works are complete, a statement said.

The ground and basement access points of the Jewel of the Creek Project have been connected with Baniyas street to the north, and Al Ittihad street to the east.

“The eastern access points include surface entry points from and to the eastern basement parking, and single-lane tunnels for the basement parking accessible from Al Ittihad street beside the Floating bridge, and from Baniyas street to the east,” said Mattar Al Tayer, director-general and chairman of RTA.

Construction works also entailed roads for traffic coming from Al Ittihad street to the south, and single-lane tunnels to the east for parking to provide an exit in the direction of Abu Dhabi and Al Ittihad street to the north, the statement added.

The tunnels and roads, stretching 1.4 km and 7 km respectively, have been developed in collaboration with Dubai International Real Estate – developer of the Jewel of the Creek project.

The RTA’s works also include a footbridge, stretching 81 metres over Baniyas street, to be completed in Q1 2020.

Located between the Al Maktoum bridge and the floating bridge, the Jewel of the Creek project spans 125,675 square metres. It includes four residential towers comprising 756 serviced apartments, 20 restaurants, a man-made lake, and a waterfront promenade and marina for 65 berths.

The project also features a five-star hotel with 438 rooms, a four-star hotel with 403 rooms, a three-star hotel with 405 rooms as well as two connected residential towers comprising 389 serviced apartments, a mini-mall, and a parking space for about 6,000 vehicles.

The project was slated for completion this year.
