Home Industry Hospitality Grand Hyatt Abu Dhabi closure due to issues “beyond control” Five-star hotel on the Corniche opened in June last year by Dominic Ellis March 28, 2019 Grand Hyatt Abu Dhabi Hotel & Residences Emirates Pearl has unexpectedly closed this month. No reasons were given why the five-star hotel, which opened on the Corniche in June last year, has stopped taking bookings, though General Manager Julien Gonzalvez said it was down to “circumstances beyond our control.” “Our team is working relentlessly with all involved parties to resolve this situation at the earliest convenience,” he said. Guests with future bookings will be contacted directly. It’s a blow for World of Hyatt members and the corporate community, as online customer and media reviews have been positive. The sharply designed property has 4,700sqm of events space, wide range of F&B and attractive ‘urban resort’ leisure facilities. Alongside 428 rooms and suites (King Room pictured) are 60 one- and two-bedroom residences, and the top-floor Royal Suite offers 360-degree views.
