The airline said it would fly from Dubai to Kinshasa International Airport via Entebbe and offer the route as part of its codeshare partnership with sister airline Emirates.

“With the proximity to the continent and rising demand to more direct links to Africa, we see this new service to Kinshasa playing an instrumental role in further supporting the growing trade and tourism flows in the coming years,” said Flydubai CEO Ghaith Al Ghaith.

FZ617 will leave Dubai International’s Terminal 2 from April 15 at 8:00am each day and arrive at Entebbe International Airport at 12:20pm. It will then leave Entebbe at 1:20pm and arrive in Kinshasa at 2:20pm.

Return flight FZ618 will leave Kinshasa at 3:20pm, arrive in Entebbe at 8:15pm and then depart at 9:15pm for a 3:45am arrival in Dubai the next day.

Flydubai said economy fares would start at Dhs2,700 ($735) and business fares Dhs6,000 ($1,634)

The airline also has African routes to Addis Ababa, Alexandria, Asmara, Djibouti, Entebbe, Hargeisa, Juba, Khartoum, Port Sudan, Dar es Salaam, Kilimanjaro and Zanzibar.

Last month, the carrier said it would begin flights to Thessaloniki in Greece and Aqaba in Jordan from June 16.
