UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has opened a new headquarters for the Arab Youth Centre in Abu Dhabi.

The 2,000sqm office will provide young Arabs with creative spaces, programmes and initiatives designed to develop their skills.

It will be led by UAE Deputy Prime Minister and minister of presidential affairs HH Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan and managed by a team of young Arab professionals under the age of 30 in various sectors.

“Our confidence in young people and their capabilities has no limits because we believe that they are the positive energy that has managed throughout history to make the glory and progress of its societies,” Sheikh Mohammed said.

“Today more than ever we need the Arab youth to work hard and sincerely to achieve their aspirations and ambitions.”

The Arab Youth Centre has been designed, engineered and managed by young people and is inspired by the achievements of the Arab world.

It includes more than 20 creative spaces to encourage innovation and excellence, a ‘House of Wisdom’ library covering literature, science, technology, business, self-development, communication and speech skills and the official ‘The Diwan’ meeting room for presenting reports and projects organised by the centre.

Other unique features include ‘The Council’ area dedicated to hosting VIPs and visitors and presenting works of art from every Arab country and the mixed-use ‘Iwan’ area featuring areas for joint work, meetings and relaxation with computers and interactive screens.

There is also ‘The Cabin’, an isolated space for photography, production and other media projects, and a laboratory with technology for the development of visual content, programming and other design and development languages.

The centre will host and present initiatives, events, workshops and lectures throughout the year.
