Home GCC UAE UAE announces death of soldier The soldier succumbed to injuries suffered during his participation in Operation Restoring Hope in Yemen by Staff writer September 11, 2017 The UAE’s General Command of the Armed Forces has announced that an Emirati soldier has died of wounds suffered while fighting in Yemen. Sergeant Nasser Gharib Al Mazrouei succumbed to injuries that were inflicted during his participation in the Arab coalition’s Operation Restoring Hope in Yemen. The General Command extended its heartfelt condolences to his family. The Saudi-led Operation Restoring Hope began conducting air strikes against Houthi rebels in March 2015 in a bid to restore Yemeni President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi’s government in the country.
