He was received by Jordanian King Abdullah II and Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah at Marka International Airport in Amman, state news agency WAM reported. The welcoming delegation included Prime Minister Dr Bishr Al Khasawneh, Ayman Safadi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, and other senior officials. The UAE delegation included Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Presidential Court; Sheikh Saif bin Zayed, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior; Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed, Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi; and Dr Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology. An official reception was held for Sheikh Mohamed, including a guard of honour and renditions of the national anthems of the UAE and Jordan. The leaders discussed several regional and international developments in a meeting held at Basman Palace in Amman, reported WAM. The city comprises 1,032 apartments dedicated to officers, non-commissioned officers and members of the Jordanian Armed Forces, reported WAM. It was built with the support of a grant from the UAE. UAE President in Bahrain The UAE President’s visit to Jordan follows his visit to neighbouring country Bahrain. King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain received President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed at his residence on Monday. King Hamad expressed his sincere condolences to the UAE President and the entire Al Nahyan family on the passing of Sheikh Saeed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. During the meeting, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed and King Hamad discussed the close, historic ties between the UAE and Bahrain. They affirmed the special nature of these relations and their commitment to strengthen them further and hoped that their countries would continue to prosper. The meeting was attended by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed and Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad, Special Affairs Adviser at the Presidential Court. Bahraini officials attending the meeting included Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and National Security Adviser; Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the Public Authority for Sports and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee; and a number of Sheikhs, dignitaries and officials.
