Home Industry Technology Saad Toma appointed as general manager for IBM Middle East and Africa Toma brings 30 years of experience at IBM, working across multiple geographies by Divsha Bhat July 28, 2021 IBM has appointed Saad Toma as general manager of IBM Middle East and Africa (MEA). Toma succeeds Takreem El-Tohamy, who has been appointed general manager, global strategic sales at IBM. Toma has over 30 years of experience at IBM, working across numerous regions, and has extensive industrial, services, and technology knowledge. He will be in charge of IBM’s entire business operations in the Middle East, Africa, and Turkey, as well as boosting revenue and customer satisfaction. “Saad is a highly respected leader with a reputation for developing high-performing teams and being a true partner to our clients, helping them with their transformation journeys,” said Marta Martinez Alonso, general manager, IBM Europe, MEA. “I would like to thank Takreem for his role in driving IBM’s business and footprint in Middle East and Africa over the past decade and wish him success in his new role.” From 2011 until 2016, Toma oversaw IBM’s Global Technology Services (GTS) business in MEA. Toma was most recently general manager, GTS for Asia Pacific (APAC), where he was responsible for assisting customers on their digital transformation journeys using hybrid cloud, data, and AI. Toma has held numerous senior positions at IBM, including global COO of GTS, where he was responsible for the administration of GTS business operations as well as the adoption of a more cognitive business model to serve IBM’s customers’ demands.
