The event, originally slated for between September 27 to October 1 later this year, has been pushed back to allow more preparation time to all stakeholders given the unexpected turn of events in the wake of the Covid-19 spread. Similarly, regional startup event, Gitex Future Stars has also been postponed to between December 6-9, 2020. “Interest has been very encouraging from the business community to come together end of the year to renew business connections and be the first back in the market to discover the new found opportunities that have since emerged,” Trixie LohMirmand, executive vice president, Events Management at Dubai World Trade Centre said in a statement. “As always, we continue to monitor the wider situation and putting in place robust health and safety measures and protocols as guided by the health authorities. We deeply appreciate our global fraternity’s patience and continued support during this time.” In the aftermath of the Covid-19 spread, a number of events have either been cancelled or postponed to a later date. Dubai based construction event, The Big 5, was also postponed to September 2021 from November this year.
