Etihad, Air Arabia offer flexible booking options

Customers will only need to pay the fare difference, if any, at the time of rebooking their flights

Abu Dhabi carrier Etihad Airways has granted customers the option to make one complimentary date or destination change for all flights booked between March 8 and April 7, 2020, it announced on Monday.

Valid for travel  from March 22, the flexibility extends to all fares including Etihad Guest redemptions and Etihad Holiday bookings.

Any fare difference arising from the rebooking/rerouting will be applied, a statement said.

UAE airlines including Emirates and Air Arabia have announced similar measures at a time when travel to several countries is being restricted due to the global outbreak of coronavirus.

Sharjah carrier Air Arabia announced the introduction of a modification fee waiver policy which would allow passengers to modify their travel bookings without charge and re-issuance fees.

Air Arabia customers can change their existing and new bookings made until March 31 for travel until December 31, 2020, up to 72 hours prior to departure.

The policy applies across all flights within the Air Arabia network from its four hubs in the UAE, Morocco and Egypt.

Customers will only need to pay the fare difference, if any, at the time of rebooking their flights.
