Bahraini national carrier Gulf Air has launched a new unit to offer holiday packages to travellers.

Gulf Air Holidays will develop and promote entire holiday packages including airfares, hotel accommodation, car rental, guided tours, excursions as well as the airline’s own add-on travel enhancement items such as advance excess baggage purchasing, lounge access and prepaid seat selection.

Gulf Air Holidays can be accessed via a dedicated website or any local Gulf Air sales offices.

The airline is working in partnership with online travel booking company Ezeego1.com, which will operate as the back-end service provider, a statement said.

Gulf Air deputy CEO Captain Waleed Abdulhameed Al Alawi, said: “By launching Gulf Air Holidays we hope to promote Bahrain across our network – give travellers worldwide attractive holiday packages to visit Bahrain and enjoy a wide array of experiences while in the kingdom.”

Bahrain’s national carrier currently serves 42 cities in 25 countries.

The airline operates double daily flights or more to 10 regional cities, in addition to select destinations in the Indian Subcontinent and Europe, from its hub at Bahrain International Airport.

Gulf Air is looking at expanding its long-haul capabilities and is set to welcome its new fleet from next year.

Its new fleet comprises 10 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, 17 Airbus A321 NEO and 12 Airbus A320 NEO aircraft with deliveries beginning from Q2 2018.

Its first new Dreamliner will be delivered in April 2018 and will operate the airline’s long haul routes, replacing its Airbus A330s.
