Home Industry Transport Dubai’s taxis to receive smart screen upgrade The new screens can be used to make payments and book tickets by Staff Writer April 15, 2018 Dubai Taxi Corporation (DTA) has installed smart screens in its vehicles as part of a pilot allowing passengers to make card payments and utilise other online services. ARN News Centre reports that the programme initially includes 50 DTA taxis but will be increased to 700. Passengers can make payments using the screens and book tickets to local attractions. The emirate’s Roads and Transport Authority also announced a $19m smart meter system upgrade for taxis last year to help drivers reach their destination and better calculate fares.
