Dubai’s Emirates to operate extra flights to London over Christmas

Dubai carrier Emirates will operate extra flights to London in the coming Christmas period to meet demand.

The carrier said it would fly six additional Boeing 777-300 ER flights from December 15 to January 6, with EK2641 leaving Dubai at 3:15pm and arriving at London Heathrow 7:15pm.

Return journey EK2642 will leave London at 9:10pm and arrive in Dubai at 8:00am the next day.

On top of the new flights, which will add 4,320 seats, the carrier will also make some of its A380 services to London Gatwick two-class only during the Christmas travel period, offering only business and economy class seats.

The affected flights will be between December 19 and December 31.

Emirates said high passenger traffic during the festive period was expected to last from December 11 to December 31, with Dubai, Bangkok, Perth, Sydney and Auckland among the top destinations for British travellers.

Passengers are typically warned to arrive at Emirates’ Terminal 3 at Dubai International Airport early during the Christmas and New Year period, one of its busiest times of year.
