Motorists will be paying more at the fuel pump in April 2024 for petrol but less for diesel amid the UAE Fuel Price Committee’s latest price adjustment announcement.

On Sunday, the committee announced the following new fuel prices,:

This marks an increase from March when Super 98 was Dhs 3.03 per litre, Special 95 was Dhs2.92 per litre, and EPlus 91 was Dhs2.85 per litre. Diesel, meanwhile, has fallen from its price of Dhs3.16 per litre in March.

This is the fourth consecutive increase for petrol prices so far this year.

Around the world, oil prices have been on the rise, creating a stubborn headwind for central banks across the globe that are looking to taper down interest rates from their multi-year highs.

Prices for Brent Crude are up nearly 11 per cent this year, while the WTI (West Texas Intermediate) has risen over 12 per cent. Challenges in the Red Sea as well oil output cuts from the likes of OPEC+, including Russia, have also provided upward pressure on prices this year.
