UAE fuel delivery service Cafu registers around 40% increase in orders as lockdown eases

The increase has been attributed to a behavioural change among users, with an increasing number of customers opting for contactless service options

UAE-based on-demand fuel delivery service Cafu has recorded an almost 40 per cent increase in orders since the relaxation of Covid-19 restrictions in the UAE, it announced on April 30.

The increase in orders across Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman and Umm Al Quwain, has been attributed to a behavioural change among users, with an increasing number of customers opting for contactless service options.

Rashid Al Ghurair, founder and chief executive officer at Cafu, said, “The lockdown measures that the government of the UAE had introduced were absolutely necessary and the right steps to curtail the spread of the virus. Relaxing the measures in a controlled manner is important. At Cafu, the relaxation had a positive impact on the number of orders we have received. Compared to the previous week, we have seen nearly 40 per cent increase in orders.”

Cafu has also announced the launch of CAFU CARES, a dedicated section on the company’s website for car owners, drivers and passengers to make informed decisions about vehicular safety during the pandemic.

“A vehicle’s interior is relatively small yet has many hard surfaces – the ideal environment to harbor germs, especially on high-touch areas such as the steering wheel. With an overload of information available, getting the facts right on how to keep yourself, your passengers and your car Covid-19 free can be overwhelming. Our intention by launching CAFU CARES was to provide a one-stop-shop for all things related to car protection and safety,” said Al Ghurair.

Apart from providing information around car ownership, the motorist app has also launched ‘CAFU Community Champions’.

Visitors can log on to the Cafu website to make submissions for their community champions. If selected, the nominator and the champion both will be rewarded a free tank of fuel.

On April 19, Cafu announced free fuel for employees working at Dubai Health Authority (DHA).
