Tuition fee for school-going children for the academic year 2020/21 remains unchanged, Dubai’s education regulator Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) has confirmed.

“School fees remain unchanged for the next academic year. We ask schools and parents to come together in the best interests of children to ensure that learning continues,” KHDA said on its website.

The UAE’s Ministry of Education is looking at the possibility of reopening schools in September, subject to precautionary measures. The plan to resume study will cover government and private educational institutions; nurseries, schools and universities.

To this end, the UAE has issued guidelines on the reopening of educational institutions which include temperature checks, physical distancing and frequent sterilisation.

KHDA has further assured parents that schools will follow safety measures to protect students.

“We know that returning to school could be a worrisome time for parents and students. Schools will be following specific health and safety guidelines to protect students and staff. If you feel nervous about sending your children to school, please speak with the school to learn more about how they’re approaching health and safety, and what you can do to play your part,” KHDA added.

Meanwhile, the summer vacations for public and private schools that follow that Ministry of Education’s curriculum will begin on July 2.
