Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) will ban the use of e-scooters inside the city’s metro and tram system as of today, 1 March 2024.

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is banning the use of e-scooters inside the city’s metro and tram system as of today, 1 March 2024.

This is according to a tweet from the RTA’s official X account that was posted late Thursday night.

Previously, passengers could bring e-scooters onto the Dubai Metro, but there were some rules that included folding e-scooters once onboard the trains and using the wide entry gates when traversing through a station.

On its official Twitter feed, the RTA made the following announcement:

However, the Dubai Metro is still allowing passengers to carry foldable bicycles onto trains and trams, according to an updated tweet from the RTA.
