Home GCC UAE UAE’s market regulator appoints first female CEO Dr. Maryam Buti Al Suwaidi was previously the authority’s acting CEO by Zainab Mansoor October 10, 2021 UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has issued a federal decree appointing Dr. Maryam Buti Al Suwaidi, as the CEO of the Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA) at the grade of undersecretary. Dr. Al Suwaidi was previously the authority’s acting CEO. She is the first woman to be appointed to this role, and marks another senior female appointment in the region. Hana Al Rostamani was appointed group CEO of UAE’s First Abu Dhabi Bank earlier this year.
