Video: Israeli airline Israir’s inaugural flight lands in Dubai

The airline will now operate up to 14 weekly flights using its Airbus A320 aircraft between Tel Aviv and Dubai

Israir’s inaugural flight from Tel Aviv landed in Dubai International airport on Tuesday, making it the first Israeli airline to operate a commercial flight into Dubai.

Flight 6H 663, which departed Tel Aviv-Yafo at 10am local time, arrived at Dubai International at 5.10pm UAE time on Tuesday with 166 passengers onboard.

Israir’s inaugural flight is part of a broader engagement between the UAE and Israel to further peace and promote sustainable development, a statement said.

The airline will now operate up to 14 weekly flights using its Airbus A320 aircraft between the two destinations.

The launch of the new service coincides with the beginning of the holiday season, with Israir’s flight hoped to boost DXB’s international connectivity even further.

On August 31, the first-ever direct commercial flight from Israel to the UAE landed at the presidential airport in Abu Dhabi.

Since then, several airlines have announced flights between the destinations.

Dubai-based carrier flydubai began flights between Dubai and Tel Aviv from November 26, and will operate 14 flights a week offering a double daily service between DXB and TLV.

Abu Dhabi’s Etihad has also confirmed that it will introduce daily scheduled year-round flights connecting Abu Dhabi-Tel Aviv starting March 28, 2021.

Late last month, it was confirmed that UAE nationals can travel to Israel without having to pre-apply for visas.
