The collaboration between IRTH Group and Rove Hotels has played a key role in reshaping Dubai’s branded residential sector.

Founded by the Alshamsi family, IRTH Group is a real estate investment platform focused on value creation, innovation, and modern living experiences. The name “IRTH,” meaning ‘past, present, and future’ in Arabic, reflects the company’s long-term commitment to quality and innovation in real estate.

Known for its presence in the long-stay hotel segment, Rove Hotels has expanded into the branded residence space with Rove Home.

With a shared commitment to providing accessible urban living solutions, the partnership has launched more than 1,800 residential units in the past 18 months, amounting to a development value exceeding Dhs3bn.

Highlights include the flagship Rove Home Downtown Dubai. The project launched in September 2023 and was sold out within two weeks. This was followed by Rove Home Marasi Drive in Business Bay, and more recently, Rove Home Dubai Marina, which was recognised as the “Best New Lifestyle Project of the Year 2024” by Gulf Business.

Rove Home residences: Community at its core

Rove Home residences are crafted to appeal to young professionals, couples, and small families seeking a balanced lifestyle in central locations. These properties incorporate smart design, modern amenities, and a strong sense of community. Additionally, owners benefit from access to services and perks across all Rove Home properties and Rove Hotels, enhancing the overall living experience.

Paul Bridger, COO of Rove Hotels, highlighted the motivation behind the Rove Home concept: “Rove Home was born from a desire to redefine the branded residences space, making them accessible to a wider audience and infusing Rove’s modern and dynamic ethos into a segment traditionally dominated by luxury brands.

“Future residents can expect not only well-designed, unique properties in prime locations but also the benefit of being part of the larger Rove community, which extends across all Rove properties.”

Osman Celiker, CEO of IRTH Group, emphasised the vision behind the developments: “At IRTH, our vision is rooted in the future, creating lifestyle destinations for next-generation living. Rove Home developments are changing the way real estate is experienced.

“With innovative design, functional efficiency, smart features, vibrant communities, and modern conveniences, our projects cater to a new generation of dynamic homeowners and smart investors.”

Expanding the Rove Home concept

The Rove Home concept is set for significant growth, with plans to introduce 3,000 new residences over the next five years. Designed for professionals and investors, these residences offer prime locations, integrated amenities, and superior connectivity, addressing the demand for practical yet well-designed living spaces.

In a market often focused on ultra-luxury developments, Rove Home provides a distinctive alternative that balances quality and affordability.

Gold edged lower on Friday and was set to post its biggest weekly drop in over three months on a stronger dollar, while investors awaited a key US inflation data for cues into the Federal Reserve’s monetary policy trajectory.

Spot gold was down 0.1 per cent at $2,874.69 an ounce, as of 0232 GMT.

Bullion is down 2 per cent so far for the week, its biggest weekly drop since November 2024, and on track for its first weekly decline after eight consecutive gains.

US gold futures eased 0.3 per cent to $2,886.80.

The dollar index was set for a weekly gain of 0.7 per cent so far, making greenback-priced gold more expensive for foreign buyers.

“While gold is deemed as a safe-haven, the uncertainty on the trade front may still see profit-taking activities extend further, amid a stronger US dollar,” said IG market strategist Yeap Jun Rong.

US President Donald Trump said on Thursday his proposed 25 per cent tariffs on Mexican and Canadian goods will take effect March 4 along with an extra 10 per cent duty on Chinese imports because deadly drugs are still pouring into the US from those countries.

Philadelphia Federal Reserve Bank President Patrick Harker expressed support for continuing to hold short-term borrowing costs in the current range of 4.25 per cent-4.50 per cent.

Gold is seen as a hedge against political risks and inflation, but higher interest rates dampen the non-yielding asset’s appeal.

Investors now await the Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE) data, the Fed’s preferred inflation measure, due at 1330 GMT.

“I do not think rate pricing will see any significant shift, with several components in the CPI and PPI suggesting that the PCE inflation could remain under control and hence, may not sway rate expectations as much,” Yeap said.

Bitcoin slides more than 5% to lowest since November 11

The world’s largest cryptocurrency has shed a quarter of its market value since mid-December

Bitcoin fell to a 3-1/2-month low on Friday, dragged by uncertainty about US President Donald Trump’s tariff plans and crypto policy and flagging investor confidence after a $1.5bn hack in rival coin ether.

Bitcoin, the world’s largest cryptocurrency by market value, was last down more than 5 per cent on the day at $79,666, trading below $80,000 for the first time since November 11.

Read-Bitcoin blasts past $106,000 on Trump’s pro-crypto stance

“Bitcoin’s fall below $80k shows that positive sentiments from a crypto-friendly administration and high-profile endorsements have run their course,” said Joshua Chu, Co-Chair of the Hong Kong Web3 Association.

The world’s largest cryptocurrency has shed a quarter of its market value since mid-December, when it topped $105,000 on optimism that the Trump administration would champion a strategic bitcoin fund and loosen regulation.

Beyond a flurry of appointments of crypto-friendly officials when he took office, there has been little concrete news around that policy for investors.

“Momentum ran out when there was no fresh news to keep driving the bullish narrative,” said Kyle Rodda, senior financial market analyst at Capital.com.

“On top of that, given the move in Mag 7 stocks we’ve seen, which is also a story of momentum slowing and valuations deflating, bitcoin, which still trades as a ‘higher beta tech’ play, is being dragged down by sell-off in Wall Street tech stocks.”

Ether ETH=, the second-largest cryptocurrency by market value, was down nearly 6 per cent at $2,149.38, around its lowest since January 2024.

In addition, investors have been pulling money out of bitcoin-backed exchange-traded funds.

Global investors have been jittery on signs the so-called exceptionalism of the US economy might be fading, while Trump prepares to impose tariffs that have stoked fears of higher global inflation and slower growth.

Trump has indicated he plans to slap a 25 per cent levy on imports from Canada and Mexico from early March, and more tariffs on China. In a sign of unease, safe-haven US Treasury prices have rallied sharply, sending yields to three-month lows.

The crypto world has also been nervous after Dubai-headquartered Bybit, the world’s second-largest exchange after Binance, said on February 21 that hackers had stolen ether worth around $1.5bn.

Bybit caters to more than 60 million users worldwide and offers access to various cryptocurrencies, including bitcoin and ether.

Blockchain research firm Elliptic said the hack was probably the single largest known theft of any kind.

“It’s a combination of macro forces. The Fed only planning one rate cut, more tariffs, uncertainties around geopolitics and war, and the ByBit hack didn’t help confidence either,” said Reuben Conceicao, chief strategy officer at digital wallet firm Metasig. “It is hard for people to be excited and pump BTC when there are bigger issues at play.”

The Dubai Government Human Resources Department (DGHR) has approved flexible working hours and remote work policy for Dubai government employees during the Holy Month of Ramadan 1446 Hijri (2025).

According to a Wam report, the approval follows the directives of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai.

The policy grants Dubai government employees up to three flexible working hours, provided they complete 5.5 hours from Monday to Thursday and three hours on Friday.

The employees are also permitted to work remotely for up to two days a week, depending on the job requirements, work conditions, and the nature of their responsibilities.

However, this particular policy mandates that employees in question should coordinate with their direct managers to ensure that operations would be carried out smoothly and maintain productivity, ensuring absolutely no disruption to the daily tasks that are to be performed in the interest of public service.

This particular policy aligns with the leadership’s announcement of 2025 as the “Year of Community” and reflects Dubai Government’s commitment to fostering an optimal work environment while promoting community values.

This particular initiative is part of Dubai’s ongoing commitment to creating the best possible work environment for government employees, enhancing their comfort, and motivating them to increase productivity.

Additionally, it also encourages the private sector entities to adopt similar measures during Ramadan that are tailored to the specific needs of businesses and ensure the seamless continuity of their operations.
