An Air India flight flying to Sharjah from Trivandrum in the Indian state of Kerala was diverted back to the airport following an onboard medical emergency on Tuesday, local media reported.

Flight AI967 landed back at Trivandrum International Airport to attend to an ailing passenger onboard.

However, the passenger was declared dead upon after landing, news agency ANI reported.
