Dubai-based Emirates has commenced its first passenger flight to Miami. Emirates flight EK213 departed at 3.10am from Dubai on Thursday morning.

Flights to/from Miami will operate on Emirates’ three-class Boeing 777-300ER, offering eight private suites in First Class, 42 lie flat seats in Business Class and 304 seats in Economy Class.

Emirates flight EK213 departs DXB at 3.10am, arriving in MIA at 11am, while the return flight EK214 will depart Miami at 9.10pm, arriving in Dubai at 7.35pm the next day.

The new four times a week service to Miami takes Emirates’ US network to 12 destinations on over 10 flights a day. Miami is the airline’s second destination that it flies to in Florida.

Emirates now operates over 70 weekly flights to the US, offering over 26,000 seats across 12 gateways including Boston, Chicago, New York (JFK and Newark), Houston, Dallas, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Washington DC and Orlando.

In addition to Miami, Emirates has also re-started flights to other major cities globally including Nice, Mexico City, Phuket, Lyon, Mauritius, and Malta in July.

The airline said in a statement that it is now operating to over 60 per cent of its pre-pandemic capacity to the US.
The new service to Miami will also serve as a gateway to Central and South America as well as the Caribbean Islands.

“There is a clear demand for this service from both leisure and business travellers and we anticipate that our new route will be warmly received across our global network, as well as by travellers in Southern Florida, South America and the Caribbean who can conveniently access Dubai and our wider network via Miami’s many air service connections,” Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Emirates chairman and chief executive said earlier this month at the time that the airline announced its plans to begin operating the Miami route.
