First Edition in the Gulf opens its doors with a trio of F&B concepts from Tom Aikens

The Abu Dhabi Edition hotel – the brand’s first hotel in the GCC – is set to open in the UAE capital on November 1 and officially launch on November 23.

Located at Al Bateen Marina, the property contains 198 rooms and suites and 57 residences. The lifestyle brand, conceived by Ian Schrager in partnership with Marriott International, is renowned for its sharp designs and the Abu Dhabi hotel will draw on traditional architecture and “natural, local patterns”.

Its lobby blends business-and-leisure with group meeting tables complemented by a gold pool table and barista station – 900sqm of MICE space is available – and British chef Tom Aikens overseas the three F&B venues, the British-themed Oak Room (pictured), craft gin-led Library Bar and Mediterranean-style Alba Terrace.

Online opening rates for Deluxe rooms are priced Dhs750 (Dhs735 for Marriott Rewards members), rising to Dhs1,150 for Marina Guest rooms (Dhs1,127) and Dhs1,800 for the top-end Superior Suite.

The 102-room Bodrum Edition opened in July.
