Apple’s iPhone 15 Pro Max might be renamed

It has been rumoured that Apple’s forthcoming flagship, the iPhone 15 Pro Max, could be getting a name change to iPhone 15 Ultra. Andrew O’Hara of AppleInsider has put forth this information, who has cited insights from various reliable contacts.

O’Hara claims that the ‘iPhone 15 Ultra’ could potentially be introduced to the market as early as the upcoming month. The device is anticipated to feature a notably larger screen and an impressive camera lens.

He claims numerous people confirmed these rumours, with Ultra being launched alongside the new Plus, Pro and standard iPhone models.

In a tweet, O’Hara stated: “Multiple sources have told me Apple will indeed use the ‘iPhone 15 Ultra’ moniker for the plus-sized pro phone.”

According to reports, Apple‘s naming choices are subject to change throughout a product’s development process, often explaining why new devices are titled differently. For example, the AirPods Max was largely expected to be called the “AirPods Studio.”

Meanwhile, most recently, visionOS was widely expected to be called ‘xrOS’.

The potential name-changing of the ‘Pro Max’ model for this year remains uncertain, although it is likely that the concept was under consideration and might still be in contemplation.

In other news, the iPhone 15 Pro Max is reportedly delayed until October. Sony, a key supplier of camera components, is unable to deliver the required image sensor for the iPhone 15 Pro Max in time, according to reports.
